DHS Ends ADVISE Data-Mining Program



Homeland Security ditches a 2003 data-mining program created to monitor immigration, customs, border protection and biological defense after investigators find it was tested with data about real people without meeting privacy requirements. DHS says the Analysis, Dissemination, Visualization, Insight and Semantic Enhancement program was too time-consuming to use.
